Moffat County Coal Refuse Pit Reclamation
Proper disposal of coal refuse
Ryno Construction was contracted to complete the reclamation of a former coal mine site in Moffat County, Colorado. The project encompassed approximately 20 acres of land impacted by improperly disposed coal refuse.
Our scope of work included excavating coal refuse piles and relocating the material into a consolidated containment pit, designed for proper long-term disposal. Once relocated, the area was heavily regraded, covered with topsoil, and revegetated to restore the site to a natural, stable condition.
Environmental and Erosion Controls
To protect surrounding ecosystems and comply with environmental standards, Ryno Construction implemented a range of erosion control measures to prevent stormwater pollution during and after construction. The project demonstrates our ability to execute large-scale environmental remediation efforts with a focus on stabilization, reclamation, and regulatory compliance.
